CANBY CHURCH of the NAZARENE

Church Board Members ~ 2009 - '10 Calendar of Events Birthdays & Anniversaries Prayers to Share Welcome Pastor Chuck and Sue Dye Pastor Chuck's Sermons & Chorus' What's Happening at Canby Nazarene? Brothers In Christ

We, at the Canby Nazarene Church, welcome all visitors to our services.

From Pastor Chuck: "Betty's passing was 12:45 PM instead of 3:45 PM, Thursday, November 5, 09.  I really don't know where that came from except maybe the "some timers" kicked in.  It really was a special experience though.  When we first arrived, Betty was a little uncomfortable, but Sue put on some piano hymn music, and it seemed Betty calmed right down.  Eileen and Sue just talked to Betty, patted her, and tended to her.  There is no telling how much was going on in the unseen, spiritual world, but we know Jesus was there, along with who knows how many angels.  Lord bless you all."

With the passing of one of our beloved members; we also rejoice knowing she is walking with Jesus now and all her family who's gone ahead. Praise the Lord; Betty is pain free and with a new body she's dancing on the Streets of Gold. We'll miss her but; know she's at peace now.

Internment Service will be held at
Zion Cemetery, in Canby. Saturday, November 7, at 2 PM, for family only.

Memorial Service will be held at
Canby Nazarene Church, Sunday November 8, at 1 PM. A Memorial Potluck will be held immediately after services and the Memorial Service right after. Please bring your favorite entrée, salad or dessert to share with all. Please come and let her family know how much we loved Betty.

If you can help set up the Potluck or help clean up afterwards; it will be appreciated. Talk to Clara or Sue about where you're needed.
Matthew: 5: 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Bible Verses of the Week

II Timothy 4: 1 – 9
1: I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2: Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3: For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4: And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5: But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
6: For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7: I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
9: Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:

Here's a nice picture of our church, below. It was Fall when I took it so, not too flowery at the moment. The church isn't too big but, has plenty of room to accomodate any and all visitiors so, come on out and visit with us. We'd be happy to have you here. Who knows maybe you'll decide this should be your home church.

Oh! And if you decide to come on the first Sunday of the month, stay after services because we have our "Potluck" dinner. Everyone is welcome and bring your appetite, too. The ladies and some of the men bring their favorite prepared entree and share with everyone. You'll leave here full and happy.

Come on out!
